Visit Innerpeffray and celebrate local area's historic role in development of lending libraries

As part of her ongoing summer tour of local tourist attractions, the Scottish National Party's Ms Roseanna Cunningham MSP, Member of the Scottish Parliament for Perthshire South & Kinross-shire recently visited Innerpeffray Library near Crieff, Scotland's oldest free public lending library

Speaking following her visit, Ms Cunningham said:

"I have been to Innerpeffray a number of times before and as a book lover it is always a place I enjoy visiting. I was looking forward, therefore, to seeing the changes that have been recently carried out to improve on what the library already had to offer.

"The new downstairs rooms have been kitted out to allow for office space for volunteers, display of collections - at present there is a rare Burns collection - and disabled access.

"This renovation has also given them a venue for events and space for a shop so this is without doubt a local attraction which was always well worth a visit and is working hard to keep improving what it has on offer.

"Innerpeffray will be participating in Doors Open Day again this year and are also hosting an afternoon of medieval music in the chapel on the 6th of October and I can assure anyone thinking about going along that it is well worth a visit."
