Roseanna welcomes SHIP funding success

The Scottish National Party's Ms Roseanna Cunningham MSP, Member of the Scottish Parliament for Perthshire South & Kinross-shire has welcomed news that Perth-based charity Support, Help & Integration in Perthshire (S.H.I.P) has recently been successful in securing £7000 from the from the Bank of Scotland Foundation's Small Grants Programme.

Overall, twenty seven Scottish charities benefitted from awards totalling £248,355 in the second tranche of donations for 2012 from the Bank of Scotland Foundation. This latest tranche brings the Foundation's donations to over £2 million to charities across Scotland since it was created in November 2010.

Welcoming the news, Ms Cunningham said: "This is excellent news for SHIP who undertake valuable work in supporting children with disabilities and their families.

"This money will assist them in continuing to improve the quality of life for children with disabilities through recreational activities and providing stimulating, high quality experiences for play and learning.

"I would like to congratulate the team at SHIP on their successful bid and would encourage other organisations who feel they may be eligible for funding under this scheme to visit"
