Ms Roseanna Cunningham MSP has expressed her delight at the news that the Logos Centre, based in Crieff in her constituency, has recently been successful in applying to Young Start and received a £50,000 grant.

Ms Cunningham said:

“I was absolutely delighted recently to learn that the Logos Centre in Crieff, which does so much great work with local young people, has received a grant of £50,000 which will be a massive help to them in delivering activities to young people throughout Strathearn and Strathallan.

“Working with children and young people aged 11-24, these activities will include the provision of youth clubs, an employability skills programme, one-to-one support and workshops with partnership agencies.  Through these services young people can gain life skills, increased confidence, improved mental wellbeing and develop local connections.

“Young people will have access to varied positive opportunities and be empowered to shape their future. Incredibly, over three years, 450 young people will take part in the project and the group will be supported by 70 volunteers.

“That is a big impact and a huge effort on the part of the volunteers.
“The funding for this comes from Young Start - a multi-million pound programme delivered by the Big Lottery Fund. The fund gets access to bank accounts that have lain dormant for a considerable time and uses those funds for projects that help children and young people thrive and realise their potential.”
