Ms Roseanna Cunningham MSP has congratulated the St Fillan’s Community Trust and everyone associated with the Loch Earn Railway Path on the news that the project has received recognition as ‘highly commended’ as part of the Transport Planning Society’s inaugural People’s Award.

Ms Cunningham said:

“The Loch Earn Railway Path is a link between Comrie and St Fillan’s which provides locals and visitors alike with a safe, off-road option to travel actively between the villages, without having to use the trunk road.

“The path follows the route of an old railway line and I was pleased to be present some time ago at the official opening of the key engineering part of the route – the restoration of a missing link, a new bridge over the Tarken Burn.

“This accolade is well-deserved recognition for all the work that has been done on the path.  I congratulate St Fillan’s Community Trust and everyone involved in putting such a huge amount of effort into the three phases of the project that have been completed to date and I look forward to seeing further stages coming to fruition."
