Ms Roseanna Cunningham MSP has congratulated schools in her constituency who have received School Sport Awards from SportScotland, three of them at the Gold Award level.

Ms Cunningham said:

“These SportScotland awards are a great accolade for staff and pupils’ commitment to sport and I am delighted that twelve schools in my constituency have been recognised this year, three of them at the Gold Award level.

“Abernethy and Dunning Primary Schools, along with Perth Academy secured the Gold Award; the Community School of Auchterarder (Secondary), Crieff High School, Perth High School and Letham, Milnathort, Our Lady’s and Portmoak Primaries all got the Silver Award; while Madderty and Tulloch Primary Schools got Bronze Awards.

“In congratulating all twelve of these schools for their achievements, I want to thank the staff concerned for the work they do in continuously seeking to improve the provision of PE and sport in schools and for their contribution to improving the health of our young people.

“I would encourage as many schools as possible to take part in this scheme and look forward to even more schools in my constituency being named in next year’s awards.”
