Ms Roseanna Cunningham MSP has encouraged local people to get involved in a new fundraising group that the Marie Curie charity is hoping to set up in Kinross.

Highlighting an upcoming information event in Kinross Parish Church, Ms Cunningham said:

“Marie Curie, the charity for people with a terminal illness, contacted me to let me know that they are hoping to set up a new fundraising group in Kinross. They are looking for members to join the group and I told them that I would be more than happy to help make people aware of what they are doing.

“There will be an information event in Kinross Parish Church on the evening of Thursday 20 September where they will share a bit about the work of Marie Curie in the local area and across Scotland, and hopefully recruit some people to form a group.

“I understand that there is the promise of a cup of tea and some home baking too!

“Marie Curie is a wonderful organisation, providing support and care to those suffering from terminal illness and helping to carry out immensely important research as new and better ways to treat and combat such illnesses are sought.

“I know that the representatives from Marie Curie will be given a very warm welcome to Kinross and I hope that there will be a good turnout.  If you have some spare time and are looking for a deserving outlet for volunteering, then give Marie Curie a thought.”
