Roseanna Pushes Pushkin Prize

The Scottish National Party’s Ms Roseanna Cunningham MSP, Member of the Scottish Parliament for Perthshire South & Kinross-shire, has highlighted a creative writing prize open to S1 and S2 pupils throughout Scotland which offers talented youngsters the opportunity to win a week spent on a creative writing course with well-known, published authors as their tutors alongside the other winners from across Scotland and from St Petersburg in Russia.

Recommending entry to the Pushkin Prize competition to talented local youngsters, Ms Cunningham said:

“This is a fantastic opportunity for any young folk who have an interest in and aptitude for creative writing.

“The Pushkin Prizes began as a pilot project in Tayside in 1988 so this coming year marks its 25th anniversary.  One of the 2012 winners came from Perth and it would be great if there were to be Perthshire kids amongst the 2013 winners, too.

“Anyone who is interested should check out the entry details on the website and get their application in before mid-December.”
