Ms Roseanna Cunningham MSP has congratulated a local cheese-making company on their success at the Royal Highland Show.

The Strathearn Cheese Company, based at Cultybraggan, took a gold medal for their Strathearn cheese, which was also named Best Scottish Cheese and Reserve Champion.  Strathearn Cheese Company’s other product – a soft cheese called The Lady Mary – also picked up a bronze medal.

Ms Cunningham said:

“I am delighted to see the Strathearn Cheese Company securing such well-deserved success and recognition.  Many congratulations to Drew and Pierre, it really is a superb achievement for such a young business.

“It is particularly pleasing to me that they have achieved this success using local milk and local flavours such as whisky from Glenturret in The Strathearn and wild garlic in The Lady Mary.  That combination of wonderful local produce and skilled artisans is clearly a winning formula.”
