The Scottish National Party’s Ms Roseanna Cunningham, SNP Candidate for Perthshire South & Kinross-shire, attended the opening today of Phase 1 of the Muthill to Crieff cycle path.

Speaking after the event, Ms Cunningham said:
“This is a great achievement for the Muthhill Village Trust and the wider community of Muthill.  Many thanks are due to everyone who has been involved in bringing this project to this stage, including Perth & Kinross Council and the other bodies involved in providing funding and other support.
“Through my involvement in the Three Saints Way, I know how much work planning such a project entails and - while the Muthill-Crieff cycle path is not a part of the Three Saints Way - the two will meet around Templemill, where the cycle route reaches on this first phase.
“Walking and cycling routes are important for many reasons.  They make it easier for us to live healthier lifestyles, they are attractive for visitors, helping the local tourist industry and, most importantly of all, they are a brilliant amenity for local people.”
