Ms Roseanna Cunningham, SNP Candidate for Perthshire South & Kinross-shire, has welcomed the decision by Police Scotland to take their annual consultation process online.

She said:
“Every year Police Scotland undertakes a public consultation process seeking public input on their priorities for policing in local communities.
“In the past this has been based on paper questionnaires distributed by police officers around the local community but the decision has been taken to take this year’s questionnaire online and that really opens up the process to the whole community.
“I very much welcome that shift and would encourage members of the public to take up this opportunity to have a say in the development of policing in our local area.
“There is no restrictive window of opportunity either - the consultation is open throughout the year.
“You can even re-submit your contribution if your view on policing priorities changes throughout the course of the year.
“Results of the consultation will be published quarterly and everyone who participates will be kept informed.
“Our police officers do a fantastic job and it is well worth noting that crime in Perth & Kinross has decreased by more than 35% since 2006-07.  Indeed, right across Scotland, crime is lower than it has been for over forty years.  Let’s all play our part in keeping that trend going.”
