Campaigning in Tulloch, Perth, the Scottish National Party’s Ms Roseanna Cunningham, SNP candidate for Perthshire South & Kinross-shire highlighted the plans for a new building to replace the current Tulloch Primary School.

Ms Cunningham said:

“I am delighted that Tulloch Primary School is scheduled for renewal.  This is a much needed project and one that I am certain will be warmly welcomed by the local community.

“In the last two terms of the Scottish Parliament, Perth & Kinross Council has, in co-operation with the Scottish Government and the Futures Trust, spent or committed to spend over a quarter of a billion pounds on the school estate.

“In this constituency, two new primary schools have been built at Crieff and Oakbank as well as upgraded facilities at existing schools like Abernethy Primary.  Two other brand new primary schools – one here at Tulloch and one in Kinross - are at the tendering stage.

“I am particularly pleased that both Tulloch and Kinross are going ahead.  While other political parties were trying to set one against the other, the SNP ensured that both will receive the investment needed to provide the sort of learning environment our young people deserve.”
