St Dominic's Pupils a Credit to their School

ST DOMINIC'S PUPILS "INFORMED, INTERESTED & ENGAGED" AS THEY QUESTION LOCAL MSP

The Scottish National Party's Ms Roseanna Cunningham MSP, Member of the Scottish Parliament for Perthshire South & Kinross-shire paid a visit to St Dominic's Primary School in Crieff on Friday.

Speaking after the visit Roseanna said:

"I was delighted to be invited by the pupils themselves as they are doing a project on the Scottish Parliament and they wanted me to come and speak to them about the Parliament and the work I do as the MSP representing their local area.

"After a short talk, we had a question and answer session and the pupils had some fantastic questions about the role of an MSP and about the Independence Referendum.

"I was clear from the way in which they were asked that their questions had not been pre-prepared by the teacher, nor were the children reading from pieces of paper. I was impressed by their enthusiasm and their understanding of the issues.

"The questions they asked showed that they informed, interested and engaged with the subject. I just hope that my answers were able to satisfy them!

"I understand that they are scheduled to visit Parliament in October. I am sure that they will find it very interesting and – other diary commitments allowing – I look forward to the opportunity of speaking to them again there."
