Roseanna Congratulates Perth's newest Telly Chef

The Scottish National Party's Ms Roseanna Cunningham MSP, Member of the Scottish Parliament for Perthshire South & Kinross-shire has sent her congratulations to Perth College student Jamie MacKinnon on winning the Chef's Protégé, broadcast over the weekend on BBC2.

Speaking this morning, Ms Cunningham said:

"Very well done indeed to Jamie, he has done himself and Perthshire proud with this well-deserved and hard earned victory.

"I met Jamie on a recent visit to Perth College's Hospitality & Tourism department and I was immediately taken with his enthusiasm for food and cooking. His passion really shines through and I have no doubt that he has the potential to be a real success as a top chef in the future.

"Congratulations must also go to Tom Kitchin, the top chef who mentored Jamie and to the other students from Perth College who all performed so well.

"Special mention must go to Iain Gibb, Tourism and Hospitality lecturer at Perth College who clearly inspires his students to do great things. Not only has he helped to produce the talent we have seen on display in the Chef's Protégé, he also taught Tom Kitchin and Andrew Fairlie, two of the best chefs working in Scotland today.

"Perth College is turning out incredible talent and we should be shouting their achievements from the rooftops."
