Roseanna Praises Comrie Croft as they "Gear up" for Summer

The Scottish National Party's Ms Roseanna Cunningham MSP, Member of the Scottish Parliament for Perthshire South & Kinross-shire paid a visit recently to Comrie Croft where she was shown the mountain bike trails that they are developing.

Speaking following her visit, Roseanna said:

"Comrie Croft is a really exciting business which is proving really popular with visitors.

"As well as the range of accommodations available including a hostel, kata tents and wild camping opportunities, the Croft is becoming a magnet destination for mountain bike enthusiasts and I am pleased to see that they are not content to stand still but are gearing up for summer with new trails and improved facilities."

Colin Mcphail, from Comrie Croft Bikes, said:

"The Bike Skills Park at Comrie Croft is part of a project which is a collaboration between Comrie Croft and the Strathearn Mountain Biking Club (SMBC), to provide Strathearn with a regional mountain biking centre. The park opened last summer and has been a huge success, attracting visitors from the local area, and all over Scotland.

"It is suitable for all ages and abilities and is open year round and best of all is free to use. The project was funded by SRDP (Scottish Rural Development Programme) and the Perth & Kinross Countryside Trust. The SMBC also helped with volunteers for the build. The rest of the project includes a Blue graded bike trail which is due to open this summer, and a Red graded trail which is due to open early 2014."
