Ms Roseanna Cunningham MSP has commented on the news that the Perth & Kinross Council area has been placed in Level 2 of the Scottish Government's Covid-19 framework.
She said:
"With this new framework coming into force from 6am on Monday, it is essential that everyone recognises the importance of making themselves aware of what can and cannot be done at each level and that we all comply with all the appropriate guidance.
"We may have avoided being placed in Level 3 along with Dundee, but we need to ensure that we do everything that we can to prevent that, because allowing things to travel in the opposite direction will make life harder for everybody.
"We need to stop the spread of the virus. It is only by doing so that we will put the Perth & Kinross area on a trajectory towards the lower levels and looser restrictions that we all want to achieve.
"The key to doing that is following the guidance and, of course, remembering FACTS - wear a Face covering when required, Avoid crowded places, Clean hands and surfaces, Two metre distancing, and Self-isolate and book a test if you experience symptoms.
"On the issue of booking a test, I am pleased to note that the mobile testing facility will be in Perth at McDiarmid Park between 10am and 5pm from the 2nd to the 8th of November and the 16th to the 22nd of November.
"With the nearest full-time testing centres being outside Perth & Kinross in areas that are now under a different level of restrictions, I have written to Tayside Health Board and to the Health Secretary making the case for a full-time testing centre to be established in this council area."
