The Scottish National Party’s Ms Roseanna Cunningham MSP, Member of the Scottish Parliament for Perthshire South & Kinross-shire and Ms Annabelle Ewing MSP, Member of the Scottish Parliament representing Mid Scotland & Fife, met last night with Clyde, the 2014 Commonwealth Games mascot who was on a visit to the Scottish Parliament.
Ms Cunningham said:
“The meeting with the Glasgow 2014 team was both enjoyable and informative and the speakers really succeeded in giving us a sense of both the progress that is being made and how important it is for organisations and individuals across Scotland to work together to deliver and outstanding games with a lasting legacy.
“The high point for most of us, of course, was getting our picture taken with Clyde, the 2014 Mascot.”
Ms Ewing added:
“After the success of the Olympics Clyde is just the guy to help get everybody into the spirit of the 2014 Commonwealth Games and the hope that we will see a successful event for Team Scotland.
“With the Ryder Cup also coming to Scotland in two years’ time we are really looking forward to a fantastic festival of sport come 2014.”
