EDRINGTON WARNED NOT TO SHOOT THE GROUSE THAT LAYS THE GOLDEN DRAMS

Commenting on the decision by Edrington, owners of the Famous Grouse brand, to close their offices at West Kinfauns and combine all their headquarters functions at their Glasgow site, Ms Roseanna Cunningham, SNP Candidate for Perthshire South & Kinross-shire, is seeking guarantees that the changes will not affect Glenturret Distillery and The Famous Grouse Experience.

Ms Cunningham said:

“It is very sad to see Edrington moving headquarters functions out of Perthshire.  I have no doubt that there will be people who live in Perthshire South & Kinross-shire affected by this decision and my thoughts are very much with them.

“The Famous Grouse is probably Edrington’s  most well-known brand and so I am also concerned to get assurances that there is no question whatsoever of this re-trenchment to Glasgow impacting in any way on the hugely successful Famous Grouse Experience at Glenturret Distillery in Crieff.

“The award-winning Famous Grouse Experience is an important local tourism destination and it really would be a case of shooting the grouse that lays the golden drams if this re-organisation were to affect it in any way.”
